With only one week to go for Bike week Ratoath are doing their bit for cycling, they held the third round of their Summer Session on Sunday the 8th of June, it was a great turn out with over 44 riders showing how much fun you can have on a BMX, the skill level has gone through the roof over the last three years with young local starts like Adam Davis,Aaron Edwards, Leon Curley,  Eoin Corrigan, Mathew Malone and so many other riders showing that if you give them a track like Ratoath they will show you what kids can do with some practice and determination.

The racing started at 1 pm Sharp it was the under 6 Boys  heading down the first straight with the youngest rider only 3 years old, next up the boys 7 & 8th s there was some close racing with Charlie Jackson and James Wood  battling it out for the number one spot.

The boys 9 – 10 gave us all something to look at in the end young Nial Davis took took the win .

The Girls came out in force showing they can mix it up with the Lads some great racing between the young Ladies.

There was some great battles all day with the Boys in all age groups getting some good results, we also saw a great Superclass final with the young boys mixing with the older more mature riders.

With the opening of Lucan BMX in June and the fourth BMX National being held there on the 29th of June, it should be a good year for BMX.

So why not come on down to Ratoath next Sunday the 15th June to give it a try or even just to cheer on the Guys & Girls.
